During the summer of 2007, shortly after opening the Chagrin River Canoe & Kayak Livery, Bill and Lisa Alford started the club as a way to bring like-minded people together. Some of their main goals were educating paddlers to ensure safety on the river, building a sense of community in Lake County, and providing a source of social opportunities for people with similar interests.
The Chagrin River Canoe & Kayak Livery (located by the Port Authority Dock in Eastlake, OH) brought in the first members for the Club. The livery now hosts monthly meetings and weekly paddles as it continues to support the club's growth.
The club is only just beginning and we foresee a long and adventurous future. Come check us out: Meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month. Monday and Wednesday night club paddles start at 7pm every during the season.
